Set free from depression

I knew about Vlasta only from my sister, who was a school mate of Vlasta’s daughter. She used to visit her from time to time to help her in the house or just to engage her in some conversation because Vlasta suffered terrible depresions. She was 50 years old and she was obsessed, she heard strange voices and she was bound by depression which sometimes didn’t let her come out of her bed much less to take care for her home.
After one of those visits my sister shared with me Vlasta’s request for prayers. We started praying and I wrote her a letter that evening. I am not used to writing letters and I do not write letters to strangers but I knew that evening that this woman had to now God who is the only one who can set her free. She called me in two days full of questions, doubts and unbelief whether this God, Jesus Christ, can really heal her, who had been suffering depression for over ten years. Nobody helped her, neither psychologist nor psychiatrist, neither fortunetellers nor witches. Why would somebody help her whom she cannot even see?
But God has enough grace for all who are burdened with pain and hopelessness, He has enough love for everyone and I knew that for Vlasta also.
She received Jesus into her heart over the phone and she promised to come one day. After months of praying my sister succeeded to bring Vlasta to a meeting to Prague where sister Rani Sebastian preached. I knew that God was going to honor their step of faith to come to the meeting. My expectation kept growing.
Right during the praise and worship time Vlasta was being changed even though she couldn’t understand everything she answered even the very first altar-call for those who have troublesome children. But I hoped that God had something more for her. The prayer time was almost over when the preacher called Vlasta to the front. She stood up and I and my sister knew that this touch of God was going to heal years of pain, suicidal thoughts and depressions.
I do not remember exact words of sister Rani which God spoke through her. But He certainly gave Vlasta new life. New life of without depression. He spoke specific healing words which the best of psychiatrists could not figure out. He gave her hope which endures.
